Joint Basketball Watch Party with Michigan State

The Michigan basketball team has a match with their Michigan State rivals coming up on Tuesday, Jan. 26 at 4:00 pm Pacific Time, and our local Big Ten brethren from that other state school have offered to join us at our regular Belltown haunt at Buckley’s and make a joint event of it.

We had all 40 seats taken within a few days after sending out the prior invitation to this event, but we’ve had a few cancellations, and now have four seats left, so we are re-sending. Please register at EventBrite (per instructions below) if you would like to attend!

Given the tough economic times we are going through, one of the top priorities for your club’s Board of Directors for the 2009-2010 year has been to put together a Networking event for U-M alums. Thanks to the hard work of board member John Hayner and recent alum Maicie Jones, we have just such an event coming up on the evening of Tuesday, January 19.

Basketball against Utah at Buckley’s

We will be getting together on Wednesday, Dec. 9 (yes, that’s tonight!) to watch the Utah game at Buckley’s. Game starts at 6:00 PM Pacific Time.

Basketball against Boston College at Buckley’s

We will be getting together on Wednesday, Dec. 2, to watch the Boston College game at Buckley’s. Game starts at 4:30 Pacific Time, and Buckley’s has Happy Hour until 6.

Penn State

This weekend’s game starts at 12:30 Pacific time, and will be against Penn State in the Big House. Coming off of their 63-6 win last week, the Wolverines will be on a roll and happy to be playing a Big 10 game at home for a change.

Iowa in the Evening

This weekend’s game starts at 5 PM Pacific time, and is an away game against Iowa. This looks to be another exciting Big 10 matchup, so we know you won’t want to miss it.

Many of us will be gathering at Buckley’s again this week to watch the game together and cheer on our team.

Indiana at Buckley’s

This will be another breakfast game for those of us on the West Coast, and Buckley’s will again be opening at 8:00 to give us all time to get in and get comfortable before kick-off at 9:00.

Breakfast at Buckley’s turned out to be a pretty popular option last week, so you may want to try to sneak in a little early if having a table is important to you.

Our first two games at Buckley’s were great successes — both on the field and in the bar — and we hope you will all join us again for the next game, against Eastern Michigan.

Those of you who showed up last week for the Notre Dame game know that Buckley’s was fully prepared for the Michigan crowd, and took good care of all of us.

This week’s game will start at 9:00 AM Pacific Time, and Buckley’s will be opening at 8:00 to give us time to get in and get comfortable prior to kick-off.
