Bilal’s Stand, a feature film written and directed by University of Michigan filmmaker Sultan Sharrief, will be screening on Monday, May 31, at 6:30 pm, and Wednesday, June 2 at 4:00 pm, as part of the Seattle International Film Festival.

Join the University of Michigan Club of Seattle in welcoming the new Director of the Seattle Art Museum, Derrick Cartwright, to Seattle. Mr Cartwright is a 1994 PhD Graduate of the University of Michigan in Art History and was most recently at the San Diego Museum of Art. He is excited to meet with Seattle Alumni and we are happy to have an opportunity to have a question and answer time with him.

Please join us as special guest Miriam Gershow, a ‘92 UM grad, will be visiting Seattle in celebration of the release of her debut novel, The Local News. Miriam is a novelist, short story writer and teacher. The Local News has been called “unusually credible and precise” and “deftly heartbreaking” by The New York Times, as well as “an accomplished debut” (Publisher’s Weekly).
