Annual Gathering

Hello Fellow Wolverines!

The University of Michigan Alumni Club of Seattle is holding its Annual Meeting and Happy Hour on Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at the Pyramid Alehouse located at 1201 1st Avenue South in Seattle. All U of M alumni are invited to attend! Happy Hour begins at 5:30 p.m. and will provide you with the opportunity to socialize with fellow Wolverines.

At 7:00 p.m., the current Board will convene the Annual Meeting to address ongoing issues pending before the Board as well as upcoming events. During the meeting, your questions and input regarding the Board and other matters important to the local club are welcome and encouraged.

The most significant piece of business to address during the Annual Meeting will be the election of Board officers and the addition of Members at Large to the Board. As far as a general description of what being a Board member entails, first and foremost, we are a group of fun loving Wolverines who get together monthly to carry out parliamentary Board functions but, most importantly, to plan new and fun events for local alumni. Board meetings take place during dinner on a weeknight at local restaurants during which we get Board business done, while also enjoying good food and conversation about, typically, our beloved U of M!

New Board members are always welcomed, as are the new ideas and input those individuals bring to the Board. If you are interested in becoming a Board member, Member at Large, would like to organize an event or have suggestions for future events we encourage you to attend the Annual Meeting. We will have volunteer forms for prospective event organizers at the meeting, but a form is also attached hereto for your convenience. Your participation and feedback are greatly appreciated!
