Seattle Wins Outstanding Club Award!
The University of Michigan Club of Seattle was pleased and honored to learn recently that we were selected by the Alumni Association as one of the recipients of their Club Awards for 2008. We were selected as the Outstanding Club in what is known as region 5, consisting of all clubs with 3,000 - 6,000 alumni in their area.
Following is the text of the award.
The Seattle club hosted a wide range of athletic, social, and cultural events to engage U-M alumni of all ages. Their activities in the areas of scholarship and student relations were impressive. The club’s Adopt-a-Frosh program stood out as one of the most innovative and thoughtful club activities this year. The club also does an excellent job of communicating with its members utilizing the listserv, regional e-TrueBlue and the club’s website. In the area of membership, the Seattle club is successful in recruiting new membership and creating a welcoming environment for young alumni new to the Pacific Northwest.
Board members Herb and Pauline Bowie were honored to be able to attend the Awards dinner and accept the award on behalf of the Club.
Thanks to the Alumni Association for this recognition, and to our Board and Club members for all you do to make us worthy of this award!
Go Blue!!
